A system designed to protect closed battery storage racks in combination with re-circulation cooling to minimize outside influences (up to 6 interconnected systems possible). To prevent a Lithium Ion Battery fire one need to identify the occurance of off gasses prior to the start of a thermal runaway. When the off gasses are detected there is between 10 and 30 minutes to take precautionary action;
1. Detect early off gasses - prevent thermal runaway
2. Power down the system
3. Inert with Nitrogen (N2)

Off gas electrolyte detection
To prevent a Lithium Ion Battery fire one need to identify the occurance of off gasses prior to the start of a thermal runaway. There are two detectors in the market that are capable of detecting off gasses and that is

Pressureless stored Nitrogen in a fixed chemical block. 1 Cool Gas Generator is capable of producing 0.9KG of Nitrogen at ambient temperature securing 1.5m3 or 53ft3. The low pressure and low noise level gas output (with silencer <99 Db) does not interfere with the integrity of the equipment. This type of gas storage is maintenance free with a shelve life of 10 years.
EXXFIRE TW System integration with any off gas detector
The EXXFIRE TW can take in any input from any detector and/or fire extinguishing panel. It also has dry NO/NC relay contacts for FAULT and ALARM state. You can hard wire these relays to any type of Battery Management System (BMS) Cabinet Management System (CMS) or fire alarm panel.
Closed cabinet protection with re-circulation cooling
When a BESS is designed one should consider to minimize outdoor influences to prevent false alarm and false discharge of the system. By using closed racks and integrated cooling one can create a safe situation when the system does discharge, because the oxygen level is only lowered inside the cabinet and not in the room. Also the environmental footprint is smaller because of lower energy consumption by cooling the cabinet only and not the whole room.
Easy to install
The EXXFIRE TW can be build outside or inside the cabinet. Any orientation is possible depending on the location.
An easy mounting bracket is available to install up to 3 generators in one system. The kit contains gas dispersion pipes, couplings, disconnecting tool, grommets, door warning sticker and optional a silencer.
